Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Willow Park School. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued, protected, and able to thrive. Our responsibility extends beyond the school gates — safeguarding is a shared endeavour that depends on strong, trusting relationships between the school, families, and external partners.
We work in partnership with families to promote the safety and wellbeing of every pupil. We recognise that parents and carers know their children best, and we value their insight and involvement in all aspects of safeguarding. Our approach is collaborative and transparent, ensuring that families are fully informed, listened to, and supported when concerns arise.
Through open communication, early help, and joint problem-solving, we aim to identify and respond to issues swiftly and compassionately. We believe that safeguarding is most effective when it is relationship-based, built on mutual respect and shared commitment to each child’s safety and success.
All staff at Willow Park are trained to recognise the signs of abuse, neglect, and harm, and to act in accordance with statutory guidance and the school’s safeguarding policies. Working together with families and professional agencies, we strive to create a protective network around every young person — one that empowers them to feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
Parents/carers, social workers, placing authorities and other significant people are offered a copy of the Child Protection Policy. This can be found in the policy section of our website.
